Behaviour Diary
A Behaviour chart or Diary as they are sometimes called are a really good way to take a step back and look at what is going on with your children's behaviour. It can show common themes, causes and triggers of unwanted behaviour. It is a good idea to keep a diary for a few days or a week to get a clear picture.
A few simple guidelines for using the chart;
1-- Fill in the time
2--Jotting down what happened before the event can show common triggers
3 --Writing what happened during the event can help to see who gets involved and the parts that they play and clearly shows your child's reaction
4-- Looking at what your child does after the event and also what you did or anyone else involved can show patterns that can accidentally reward unwanted behaviour and other factors that can be making it worse.
